Throughout his career, Gregg Rotenberg has specialized in energy and business strategy. Gregg steers all aspects of Smart Wires business and takes tremendous pride in attracting and retaining a uniquely talented team.
Prior to Smart Wires, Gregg was involved in the first wave of large-scale renewable development in the United States. He served as General Manager of the Renewable Power Group at Chevron Energy Solutions (CES), leading the engineering, procurement, construction of, and financial investment in utility-scale solar and geothermal projects.
During his tenure at Chevron, Gregg also managed CES’ Strategic Alliances Group. The Group reviewed countless companies to identify truly game-changing energy technologies. Only three technologies were designated as such. One was Smart Wires. It was this evaluation that ultimately led to Gregg’s decision to leave Chevron and lead Smart Wires in commercializing its technology and scaling globally.
Prior to Chevron, Gregg co-led the development and launch of a new energy consulting practice at one of the largest energy firms in the United States. He was also a principal at consulting firm, Keystone Strategy.
Gregg holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics, with a concentration in finance and accounting, from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated magna cum laude. He also holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, graduating first in his class.
