Advancements in Distributed Power Flow Control

Many considerations for implementing advanced power flow control in real grids have been neglected in the past. This paper breaks down these neglected considerations. It proposes an agent-based power flow control system, including necessary hardware components, control algorithm, monitoring underlying distribution grids, communication technology and protocols, and the interface with the grid operator’s control center.
