Developing solutions for critical grid challenges
A large renewable developer faced challenging costs and timelines for one of their projects in the United States. Compared to the traditional network upgrade initially proposed, our solution could be delivered three years faster and reduce interconnection costs by 80%.
A Canadian utility wanted to increase reliable power transfers to neighboring regions and developed a variety of options, ranking them via a MW/$M metric. We developed an array of alternate solutions with MW/$M values which were an order of magnitude better than the original approaches.
A European utility questioned the system impacts of multiple SmartValve installations to unlock 100s of MWs of network capacity. We modeled system interactions via detailed time-domain simulations including HIL studies and found no adverse impacts across dozens of operating conditions.
